Humid sunset

It was quite a warm day today for this time of year. The sea breeze never came in so it got to a very humid 31. The sunset was nice though, albeit a little threatening.

Bridget and John

We only realised yesterday that there were no photos of Bridget with John. Not surprising really because getting John to sit still is something only Steve Irwin might have managed.

The girls were thrilled that WA finished the first day of their game against Victoria on just 2 for 359.

Angry young man

This is what our little thug looks when sporting his "go way Daddy!" face. If you swapped the dinosaur pyjamas for an Eng-er-land shirt and painted the George's Cross on his forehead, you could imagine him appearing on the front page of the newspaper the day after a riot.

Bridget and the 'roos

Ger felt that Bridget couldn't go home without seeing a kangaroo so they all went off to a nearby park this afternoon where there are wild ones.

Annual retreat from the kids!

Bridget looked after the kids while we spent a couple of nights 'Down South' staying at the Quay West Resort Bunker Bay. This is one of those hotels where the accommodation is not in the main building but spread out around the grounds in little villas and it's located on a sheltered and almost deserted bay...probably the nicest place we've stayed so far in Australia. Not many photos because we were too busy eating and drinking.

Waving at the camera

The waves in the Margaret River wine region are for very experienced surfers looking for big wave action. I don't think the scale really comes across at all in these two sequences but the waves we saw this morning were up to 7 metres, perfectly formed at times...and with nobody riding them!

Visit to Ann's house

The girls all went down to cousin Ann's house this morning to make Christmas cards and generally have some fun. Ger's Auntie Kitty is visiting from Brisbane for a few days.

Bridget in Perth

With Dave at work and John in the creche, the girls have been out and about. They went up to Mundaring Weir in the hills on Friday and Anna took this photo.

Today they laid flowers at the grave of Fr John Brosnan in Karrakatta. He was a native of Killarney who married Jerry and Bridget before coming to Perth where he ended up PP of Wembley.

Afterwards they met Dave for lunch before taking in the sights in Kings Park.

Granny Bridget arrives

Bridget's flight landed shortly after midnight last night so they were back in Hillarys well before 2:00 (Ger having been chased down and random breath tested on the way back!). Anna finally managed to wake her at 7:45 and they've been inseparable since. John was understandably a little cautious at first but he has warmed very quickly.

View from Applecross

Lovely day for a trip to the southside of town on a bank holiday courtesy of Her Majesty getting a year older. Cheers Liz!
